To be God's hands and feet, bringing His love through the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, to those in need.
Maribeth Bishop Severine Pat
As friends, we both had a calling to go to Africa.
After meeting Bishop Severine NiweMugizi in May of 2016, he invited us to his diocese of Rulenge-Ngara, in Tanzania, Africa.
Join us here on our journey

Prior to COVID, a medical laboratory was willing to donate lab equipment and office supplies. Some items had expiration dates. The cargo ship delays became a problem as well. We are checking into continuing with this project, and are seeking monetary donations to ship the items to Tanzania. This picture shows the only lab equipment at the dispensaries.
Always raising money and seeking monetary donations for the trade school. Those who cannot afford to go to University will have the opportunity to learn a trade, enabling them to have sustainable employment and income. This will improve the economy and living conditions in Tanzania. Building a trade school was the desire of the Bishop. (see #5 below).
1. Repaired the only rainwater tank at a boarding school with 650 students and staff.
2. Provided food, school supplies and toys to schools, orphanage and boys' Centre.
3. Provided prayer shawls at a hospital for moms and their newborns.
4. Provided financial assistance for an 11 year old orphan and Dr. Gresmus to travel from Tanzania to Zimbabwe for an evaluation by American doctors from LEAP, a NPO.
5. Refurbished a dormitory at a future teachers college, a former seminary, which is headed by Fr. Juve.
Since we posted this prior to COVID, we learned that the bishop asked Fr. Juve to prepare this school for
the trade school. It was officially registered in 2022.
6. Assisted in building a well at each of two remote areas of Tanzania.
Held our 1st Annual Winter Party for the homeless at a local shelter on Feb 4, 2019. We provided food and warm conversation on a cold winter's day.
Due to COVID-19, our 2020 party was cancelled.
Sent money and blankets to assist a 10 year old girl in fulfilling her Christmas wish to provide blankets for the
homeless in her local Minnesota area.
Picture shows 1 of 2 van loads.
Donated money to a local elementary school to purchase shoes for those in need.
As Spring activities and High School graduations were cancelled in 2020, we joined a local "Adopt a Senior" group. We were drawn to a special young lady who also has an interest in mission work. She graduated from a Christian school and is attending a Christian College. We surprised her with a plant and a gift basket. After meeting her and her mother we plan on having a lasting relationship!
On August 10, 2020, the costliest storm in modern United States history travelled a 770-mile path from South Dakota through Ohio. With over 100 mile per hour winds, its devastation left homes, businesses, vehicles and millions of acres of crops flattened, particularly in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Just an hour from our home, we cooked food and set up buffets outside 2 condemned apartment complexes which was home to refugees from West and Central Africa and the Pacific Islands. We then drove through the city, distributing food and water.
Before returning home, we spent 2 hours assisting a man with clearing trees from his property.
During the Pandemic, we received a monetary request from Dr. Gresmus so he could purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep his hospital staff safe while attending to COVID patients. As a new non-profit, low on funds, we were only able to send him $1025, for which he was truly grateful!
Fr. Fortunatus (pictured above) and Fr. Denis received their Bachelor and Masters degrees from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. We gifted Fr. Fortunatus a projector which he is using for teaching in Tanzania. Fr. Denis received $400 towards purchasing a car when he returns to Tanzania.
GuideStar and Foundation Center combined to form Candid, a NPO. They list the transparency of charitable non-profit organizations, enabling contributors to choose their preferred charities. We received our bronze seal in 2018 and 2019. Check us out on Candid.org
In 2022, we received our SILVER seal from Candid, a NPO which lists the transparency of charitable non-profit organizations. This enables contributors to choose their preferred charities. Guidestar combined with Foundation to form Candid. Check us out on Candid.org
